About
The Preceptory, based in Manor Road, Wallasey, was consecrated on 12th May 1921 at the Masonic Hall, Oliver Street, Birkenhead by Cuthbert Leicester-Warren, the Provincial Prior. The Warrant was dated 27th December 1920.
There were the huge number of 41 Founders, who included Eustace Parker, the Sub-Prior, Joseph Clark, The Chancellor, and Provincial Grand Secretary in the Craft, James Ratcliff Gayland.
In 1939 Palestine Preceptory, as hosts of the Provincial meeting, asked the Provincial Prior to hold the Annual Meeting at Chester Cathedral, and although this was delayed by the war, it was so from 1942 to 1994. After the Second World War, things were better for a time, but in the mid 1950s there was further decline; Geoffroy de Bouillon Preceptory and Palestine Preceptory have helped each other with officers from time to time. Currently the Preceptory is strong and in good heart.
We meet every 4th Wednesday in February, April and October, at 18:00.
